Frank and I got engaged on Saturday!

So no one has posted in awhile, so I would add an entry.

A few weeks ago was Jessie's baby shower which was lots of fun!! so if you missed it, you should be sad. Steve & Jessie-we are all so excited for you!! :) I am gonna see if I can get the digital pics from my dad to post on-line. There were some cute ones with the 4-block cake (which was soooo good that I definitely overdosed on the butter cream frosting in the week following the shower while I was at my mom's :) ), and ones of jessie opening gifts, etc...

Tomorrow I am heading to St. Louis for a job interview at Washington University. The more I learn about their department, the more I like it. All the faculty seem to do interesting work, and seem to have a lot of resources for junior faculty, which is a good thing. And they seem to tenure people which is always encouraging! So wish me luck! Interview is 12 hours on Tuesday, so I'm planning a sugared, caffeinated day :)

Band Camp Madness!

I am back at Purdue (again) after a successful summer, and have just wrapped up the week of Band Camp. It looks like we're going to have a great season this year, and I'm really excited about it!

There is a guy who goes and takes pictures of the band during camp and other things we do like football games and such, and posts the pictures on a website: www.purduebandfan.com

The Minneapolis Star Tribune interviewed me about my interviewing Steve. Confusing? A little. But they took a cute picture of us.

Back Home in Indiana!

Well, after a long long trip I'm finally back in good ol' Indiana. Classes start tomorrow, and I dread making the master to do list of everything that will need to get done just in the next week. But "It's all good", and I have confidence everything will work out.

I moved into my apartment yesterday. It is quite different from living in a dorm room, with big pros (larger room, and having a room to myself) and big cons (WHAT?? I HAVE TO MAKE MY OWN FOOD??)... so quite different for me. But I'm excited about it.

Lots of things to do this summer, so I better start now!
